Ask for a serial-number record, not just a nominal mV/V value.
A useful report connects the sensor and conditioner serial numbers to loading direction, rated range, excitation, measured output, uncertainty and the reference chain. The quote identifies sensor-only, paired-system or installed-system calibration scope.
| Loading point | Record to request |
|---|---|
| 0% of selected rated force | Applied reference force, loading/unloading output and repeat cycle under stated conditions |
| 25% of selected rated force | Applied reference force, loading/unloading output and repeat cycle under stated conditions |
| 50% of selected rated force | Applied reference force, loading/unloading output and repeat cycle under stated conditions |
| 75% of selected rated force | Applied reference force, loading/unloading output and repeat cycle under stated conditions |
| 100% of selected rated force | Applied reference force, loading/unloading output and repeat cycle under stated conditions |
This table specifies report contents. The measured values and serial numbers come from the actual calibration record.
Make the traceability chain visible.
Request the reference-standard identity, certificate/recalibration status, calibration method, measurement uncertainty, environmental conditions and stated traceability reference. NIST traceability describes a measurement result and its documented chain; it is not a manufacturer badge. A five-point report alone does not establish ISO 376 classification or ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
See NIST measurement traceability policy and ISO 376 scope. Specify the applicable accredited service or reference chain required by your quality team in the RFQ.
Factory pairing and installed validation answer different questions.
Writing the sensor/module coefficient establishes the quoted signal scaling. Support geometry, bolt stiffness and force shunts can change the assembled sensitivity. Validate quantitative force in its final loading path when those conditions matter.
100 kΩ shunt: electrical verification, not an applied force.
The shunt resistor, bridge arm and connection scheme determine the simulated electrical response. Specify the actual resistor value, tolerance, insertion points and expected output. Shunt verification cannot replace mechanical load/unload calibration.
